• Terms, Conditions, Customer Service Policy for Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes

    Introduction: Thank you for visiting Zen Sewing, Alterationsand Fixes. By using my services or website, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use my Services.

    Definitions: Throughout this document, we may use certain wordsor phrases, and it is important that you understand the meaning of them. The following is a non-exhaustive list of definitions of words and phrases found in this document: "Zen Sewing,Alterations and Fixes” refers to my company, known as "Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes” on my Site. My Service(s) and a combination of all or some of the preceding definitions, depending on the context in which the word is used; "Service" refers to the services that I provide through my Site, including the Site itself; "Site" refers to our website, www.zensewingalterations.com; "User" refers to anyone who uses my Service(s), including general visitors to my Site; "You" refers to you, the person who is governed by this Terms of Service and Customer Service Policy.

    1. Use of Services

    My Services are provided solely for your personal orbusiness use, subject to these Terms. You agree not to misuse the Services or use them for unlawful purposes.

    2. Accounts

    To use my Services, you may be required to create anaccount. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activities under your account.

    3. Orders and Payments

    You agree to pay all charges for services rendered, including applicable taxes and fees. Payment is due at the time of order pick up or as otherwise specified in the below agreement. I reserve the right to change my pricing or billing practices at any time.

    4. Payment for Services

    All services are to be paid for at time of pick up. In thecase of custom costumes or custom clothing, a downpayment or half of the total quote is required at time of order. There maining amount is due at time of pickup.

    5. Alterations

    I proudly show the quality of my work and ask you toverify items before leaving the business.

    I require invoice/e-mail/receipt for proof of pick up. Ifneither are available, customer can show ID and sign for garment. I only give garments back to the person whose name is on the original order form unless other arrangements are made with me prior to pick up.

    Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes will hold garments for60 days after pick-up date. We will make attempts to call the number on the invoice 3 times and email the client 3 times, after which the garment will be donated if there is no response.

    More Info:

    Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes will not be responsible for alterations performed against the advice of the owner’s suggestions or if proper undergarments and shoes were not worn at the time of fitting.

    Redo: Alterations fitted by the owner will be done at thediscretion of the owner and additional charges may apply.

    Buyback:

    Pre-Worn Garments: Alterations that were attempted butcannot be fixed, that are previously worn clothing (bought at a thrift store), Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes will buy back at 3 times its alteration charges (excluding tax), provided amount does not exceed the value of the garment. Up to $50/item maximum payout.

    For New Garment alterations that were attempted but cannot be fixed, Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes will reimburse the value stated on the original receipt and retain the garment, up to $75/item maximum payout. If original receipt is not available, the customer is responsible to prove price paid. Debit/credit statement is also acceptable. If not available, Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes discretion on the price of the clothing is final. Refund or buyback will not be offered after the 60 daywindow from time of pick up of garment has passed. If the damaged item is part of a collection or groupingorsuit, only the damaged item will be bought back.

    Refunds/Buy Backs

    Refunds: All refunds will be given in cash and will be issued by the owner.

    Buybacks: All buybacks will be processed by the owner.

    For Missing Garments: If garment is determined to be lost, buyback shall be limited to 3 times the charge for alterations (invoice amount minus tax) regardless of brand, price, or condition of the garment. Reimbursement will only be made payable to the name on the original Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes alterations receipt.

    6. Liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zen Laundry Servicesand Alterations is not liable for:

    • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

    • I want your experience to be seamless. In the rare eventof accidents to clothing, I take responsibility for any loss or damage that is outside of the above listed terms, offering to reimburse the value stated on the original receipt (capped at $50 per item, unless otherwise agreed upon). If original receipt is not available, the customer is responsible to prove price paid. Debit/credit statement is also acceptable. If original receipt is not available, Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes has discretion to set the price of the clothing and their decision is final, (capped at $50 per item, unless otherwise agreed upon).

    7. Modifications

    I may update these Terms at any time by posting the revisedversion on our website. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

    8. Dispute Resolution

    In the event of a dispute, you agree to resolve it through binding arbitration, unless prohibited by law.


    9. Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of [British Colombia,Canada], without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

    10. Abuse Policy:

    Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes had a "no abuse"policy and does not tolerate any forms of in-person or online abuse. Abuse isdefined by the definitions below:

    Verbal abuse:Insults, threats, or hate speech.

    • Physical abuse: This encompasses any physical contact intended to harm, such as pushing, shoving, hitting, or throwing objects.
    • Threats: Any statement or action that implies harm or danger to employees or other customers is also a violation.
    • Harassment: This can include unwanted attention, unwelcome physical contact, or offensive comments based on someone's race, gender, religion, etc.
    • PropertyDamage: Intentionally damaging owner’s property.
    • Hatespeech: Discrimination or prejudice based on race, religion, gender, etc.
    • Doxing:Sharing someone's personal information without their consent.
    • Review Bombing: This term describes the act of a group of people intentionally leaving a large number of negative reviews for a product or service, usually with the goal of impacting its overall rating and potentially damaging its reputation.
    • Review Extortion: This term specifically refers to situations where someone threatens to leave negative reviews or actually leaves negative reviews unless the company meets certain demands, such as a refund or a specific action.
    • Cyber bullying/Online Harassment: Review bombing can be a form ofcyberbullying or online harassment when it involves coordinated attacks or the use of abusive or threatening language in the reviews, according to review platform guidelines.

    If Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes deems that abuse is happening,they have the right to discontinue service, return items unfinished, ask the person to leave the premises, block the person on all social media channels and delete inappropriate abusive messages on social media sites. If the abuse continues or the customerrefuses to leave the premises, the police will be called. If the abuse continues online, the police will be called.

    If the policy is violated Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixesreserves the right to cease communication and take required action, including stoppage of service and or legal action. If a refund is required after abuse has happened, Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes will mail a cheque or issue a refund online, to the person whose name is listed on the receipt. No in person contact will occur and all communications will be by email or text message from that point forward until the receipt has been issued.

    11. Termination:

    I reserve the right to refuse access to services to anyoneat anytime, suspend or terminate your access to Zen Sewing, Alterations and Fixes for violations of these above Terms or other misuse.
